Arrival by Plane

For those traveling from abroad, the most convenient way to arrive in Belgium is by plane.


To Brussels Airport (BRU)

We strongly suggest traveling to Brussels Airport (BRU) as this is the most convenient way to continue your journey to the forum venue. There is a train station at the lowest level of Brussels Airport and there is a direct train from Brussels Airport station to Mons station: it leaves every hour during the week and every two hours during the weekend.

You can consult the train schedule and pricing table here. The total journey by train is of around 1 hour. More information and timetables can be found on the website of the Belgian Rail Company NMBS/SNCB. You must buy a ticket at the train station prior to boarding the train. Tickets can be purchased at the ticketing machines or service desk at the station and cost €18.10.

Once arrived in Mons Railway Station, you can take the bus (Orange City O) to the Mons University buildings – It leaves every 20 minutes from the train station. Get off at the Joncquois street (rue du Jonquois in French) and walk to the Stiévenart
Amphitheatre.

Alternatively, you can also walk to the venue, as it is only 2km from the train station – 25 minutes walk: google map


To Charleroi Airport (CRL)

For those arriving at Charleroi Airport (CRL), the easiest way to reach Mons is to take the bus from Charleroi Airport - line A (Buy ticket here: Buy the Bus Ticket Charleroi Airport - line A) to the Charleroi-South train station where you can take the train (it leaves every hour during the week) to Mons.

You can consult the train schedule and pricing table here. The total journey by train is of around 45 minutes. More information and timetables can be found on the website of the Belgian Rail Company NMBS/SNCB. You must buy a ticket at the train station prior to boarding the train. Tickets can be purchased at the ticketing machines or service desk at the station and cost €6.80.

Once arrived in Mons Railway Station, you can take the bus (Orange City O) to the Mons University buildings – It leaves every 20 minutes from the train station. Get off at the Joncquois street (rue du Jonquois in French) and walk to the Stiévenart Amphitheatre.

Arrival by Train

Those arriving in Brussels by international train (such as ICE, Thalys, Eurostar) will typically arrive in Brussel-Noord/Bruxelles-Nord or Brussel-Zuid/Bruxelles-Midi Railway station.

At both stations, trains towards Mons are available. The total journey by train is of around 1 hour. More information and timetables can be found on the 
website of the Belgian Rail Company NMBS/SNCB. Tickets can be purchased at the ticketing machines or service desk at the station and cost €13.40.

The Stiévenart Amphitheatre can be reached by car using the Venue address: 53, Rue du Joncquois - 7000 Mons – Belgium. A free parking is available behind the Amphitheatre.
